Every story has a beginning. Some begin with a name.
Over the years, people have often asked if there is a story behind the name August 2 Productions. There is and it's a deeply personal one. Founder and Executive Producer Nicole Kelly Garner named the company in honor of her father, John Augustus Kelly Jr., known to audiences by his stage name Jack Kelly, celebrated for his role in the iconic television western Maverick.
In the 1970s, Jack founded his own company, August II, Inc., a name inspired by his own. In 2002, his daughter Nicole began shaping her own company and the name August 2 kept resurfacing. In tribute to her father and to carry forward a shared creative legacy, she named the company August 2 Productions, now also known as A2.
Today, A2 represents more than a name, it reflects a continuation of storytelling, creativity, and family heritage passed from one generation to the next.
